Souths deny Burgess departure

South Sydney have denied they are trying to offload front-rower Tom Burgess.

It was reported yesterday that the club was shopping the Englishman around, despite being contracted for another two years.

Burgess’s brother Sam said there is nothing to the speculation.

“I think it’s a load of talk really,” he told media.

“The first we heard of it was (Thursday) morning, it’s not true so we’ll move on.

“Tom spoke to Shane Richardson (Rabbitohs General Manager of Football) and it’s completely not true.”
