BARLA to introduce club membership scheme

BARLA have confirmed that they are to bring in a membership scheme for all Tier Four, Five and Six clubs, beginning on September 1.

The cost for clubs to join will be an annual fee of £25, for which they will receive access to a number of benefits.

These include: free participation into the BARLA National Cups at both open age and youth and junior levels; free participation in the Cumbria and Yorkshire County Cups at both open age and youth and junior levels; Tier Four, Five and Six clubs will be eligible to put forward players from their clubs for selection to the Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire sides which compete in the BARLA Three Counties Championship at both ppen Aae and under 19s & 17s; Tier Four, Five and Six clubs’ players will be eligible to be considered to play for both BARLA Open Age and under 23s, 19s and 17s international side which may take part in any future tour.

BARLA chair Sue Taylor hopes that the new scheme will prove popular with clubs.

“BARLA are introducing the BARLA Membership Scheme and hope that all tier Four, Five and Six clubs will buy into this new venture.

“By becoming members clubs will save money when entering BARLA competitions and its players will have the chance of competing for both their country and county in competitive games.”
