New York signing Jack Logan.

The 25-year-old, who began the season in the Championship with Batley, re-joined Hull on a month’s loan during their injury crisis but was this week released and has joined the Centurions until the end of the season.

Leigh interim head coach Kurt Haggerty, who coached Logan at Toronto, said: “It’s great to have Jack with us until the end of the season.

“He’s athletic and has a good skill set. Jack can play any position in the outside backs and adds value to our playing roster.”

Logan said: “Everyone I’ve spoken to who’s been at Leigh can’t speak too highly of the place. I’m buzzing about the move.

“Joe Cator, Cam Scott, Tommo (Jordan Thompson) and Ryan Brierley are all mates of mine and they all told me what a passionate town Leigh is for Rugby League and about the great facilities at the Sports Village.

“I’m passionate about what I do and want to play well and enjoy my rugby. This move gives me that opportunity and I intend to make the most of it.

“Looking at the club from a distance you can see what a great club Leigh is. Everyone knows about the drive and ambition of Derek Beaumont and that always comes across when Leigh gets talked about.”

Logan could make his debut in Sunday’s televised home game against Hull KR.

The signing follows that of NRL forwards Sam Stone and Jai Whitbread as the Centurions look to pull away from the foot of the table.

Second-rower Stone, 23, and prop Whitbread, also 23, will join the Centurions with immediate effect from Gold Coast Titans.

Haggerty said: “We are very pleased to have Sam on board. He is a player who we have monitored closely and it’s great to finally get the deal over the line.

“Getting Jai is a major coup for us. He’s a front-rower who can play at loose forward. He is good with the ball and also very tough defensively. I’m sure he will fit in really well and I’m looking forward to having him on board.”
