St Helens win Women’s Super League Grand Final
St Helens completed a domestic treble with a resounding 28-0 victory over Leeds in the Women’s Super League Grand Final at Headingley.
Having already scooped the Challenge Cup and League Leaders’ Shield in 2021, the St Helens women added a third trophy to their haul following on from the men’s triumph at Old Trafford on Saturday night.
In front of a crowd of 4,235, the reigning champions just had no answer to the Saints dominance.

Amy Hardcastle’s 65 metre burst through the middle of the Rhinos defence followed Leah Burke’s try minutes earlier to give Saints an 18-0 cushion that they never looked like relinquishing.
Burke had earlier opened the scoring midway through the first half, as Saints managed to deal without skipper Jodie Cunningham for 10 minutes – after she was sinbinned for preventing a quick restart.
Cunningham had the last laugh though, scoring a sparkling solo try on the stroke of half time to give them a 10-0 lead at the break.

It took until 56 minutes for the next score through Burke, but that broke the Rhinos resolve – and after Hardcastle’s wonderful effort, further tries were added by Zoe Harris and Danielle Bush.
A treble for St Helens women adds to the Challenge Cup and Grand Final double achieved by the men’s team in 2021.
