Former Warrington winger pens two-year deal at Newcastle
Newcastle Thunder winger Jack Johnson has signed a new two-year contract extension at Kingston Park.
Johnson, 25, scored 12 tries in 18 appearances last season after arriving from Widnes.
He said: “Last year was good and challenging at times but we achieved what we wanted and set a platform for going forward.

“I loved being here and we started talking around a quarter into the season about extending, what it was going to look like next season, where we want to get to and it was a pretty easy decision to make on hearing that and the club’s ambition.
“What was said has been delivered and that is good. Going full-time is brilliant, it’s what the club needed and I think we can really kick on now.”

Johnson came through the academy set up at Warrington and went on to make 18 Super League appearances for the Wolves.
He played three top flight games at Widnes on loan, and joined them permanently for the 2020 season after a spell at Featherstone.
Coach Eamon O’Carroll added: “JJ (Jack Johnson) is really important to us and I’m really happy we’ve been able to tie him down.
“He’s fully committed again and invested in what we are trying to do and is moving to make the north east his home.
“There is a great side to him in terms of his personality. He is a really likeable character who’s cheeky and gets the lads laughing; but also has the serious bit when it is time to work.
“He has experience of some great environments and brings that knowledge with him and adds a lot of quality to us.”
