St Helens the bookmakers favourites to retain Challenge Cup

Defending champions St Helens are listed as the favourites to win the Challenge Cup again in 2022.

Kristian Woolf’s side, who defeated Castleford at Wembley earlier this year, are listed as 11/4 favourites with Sky Bet to lift the cup again.

The second favourites are 2019 winners Warrington at four to one, with Wigan, Castleford and 2020 winners Leeds all available at short odds.

Super League Grand Final runners up Catalans are listed at 10/1, while Hull FC are at 14/1. Huddersfield and Hull KR are all available at 16/1.

The longest odds for the Super League clubs go to Salford and Wakefield, who are both available at 33/1. Toulouse have already announced they would not be competing in the cup.

Featherstone are at the shortest odds of the Championship clubs, at 100/1.  Leigh, Halifax and Bradford are available at 125, 150 and 175 to one respectively.

York are also available at 200/1, with Widnes and Newcastle being available at similar odds.

Finally, Barrow, Batley, Dewsbury, London, Sheffield, Whitehaven and Workington are all available at the longest odds of 500/1.

Challenge Cup schedule

The Challenge Cup is due to start again in January, when the community clubs enter. League 1 clubs are due to enter in round two later that month.

It is not until round four when the Championship clubs enter. This round will take place over the last weekend in February.

Another round follows before the Super League sides enter at the end of March in round six. The final takes place at the end of May at a new venue; the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
