Leigh complete permanent signing of Warrington centre
Leigh have signed centre Keanan Brand from Warrington on a permanent basis.
Brand, 22, spent last season with the Centurions on loan and has now been released from the final year of his deal at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
He said: “It is great to be back at the club. After my start at Widnes Vikings, I moved to Warrington but my opportunities to play were rare, so I jumped at the chance to come here this season.
“The fans are something else, they get right behind you throughout the game.”
Brand came through the academy ranks at Widnes and made 33 first team appearances for the Vikings before moving to Warrington.
He will be re-united with winger Jayden Hatton, who Leigh have signed from Widnes. The pair played together in the 1895 Cup final in 2019.

Leigh head of rugby Chris Chester said: “Keanan Brand went down really well with everyone at the club last season including the faithful fans. I have heard plenty of good things about him.
“He will add quality and depth to the playing squad with his experience of playing in the outside backs in both Super League and the Championship.”
Brand scored one try in 13 appearances for Leigh in Super League in 2021, playing at full-back, wing and centre.
Making moves
Earlier this week, Leigh appointed former Wigan boss Adrian Lam as their new head coach.

They also announced the signing of Tongan half-back Ata Hingano from Salford.
But veteran forward Joel Tomkins won’t be making the move to Leigh Sports Village in 2022 after all.
He had previously agreed to join from Catalans Dragons, but has now decided to hang up his boots.
