Sam Moa makes Catalans return
Lezignan prop Sam Moa has made a surprise return to Catalans Dragons – but its not in a playing capacity.
The former New Zealand and Tonga international is back at the Dragons one year after having left the club and retired from full-time rugby.
Sam Moa has most recently been playing for Lezignan in the French Elite Championship as a player and assistant coach. He will now return to Super League Grand Finalists Catalans to be an assistant coach to Steve McNamara.
On his return, Moa said: “I have spent the past year with Lezignan and I have a greater appreciation for what rugby 13 means to the people of this region of France.
“I am very grateful for my time as a player and assistant coach with Lezignan where I have gained some valuable experience.
“I look forward to working alongside Steve McNamara, Thomas Bosc and the staff at the Dragons as a collective in order to help the team and the club take the necessary steps to fulfilling its huge potential.”
