Castleford youngster Lewis Peachey makes Championship loan move
Championship club Newcastle Thunder have signed young forward Lewis Peachey on a season-long loan from Super League outfit Castleford.
The 20-year-old came through the academy at Castleford before making his first team debut in 2019 against Catalans Dragons. He has since made 12 appearances for the Tigers.
Castleford have a recall option on Peachey, who is able to play anywhere in the forward pack.
On joining Newcastle, Peachey said: “I really enjoyed the first week. All of the lads and the coaches have been great. It has been good to get to know everyone and to get settled in.
“I’ve had that first taste of playing first team rugby and I think Thunder will be a good opportunity to get more of that, improve as a player and gain the experience that is going to be key for me to improve and help the team.”

Thunder coach Eamon O’Carroll said: “Lewis is a good young player with Super League experience and is looking for more first team opportunities to progress as a player.
“That is something that he has the chance to claim here with us as well as training in a full-time environment as he’s used to.
“He’s only been with us for a short time but has already made contributions to the group. I’m looking forward to working with him this season.”
A Castleford statement read: “Castleford Tigers would like to wish Lewis the best of luck during his time with Newcastle Thunder and will be keeping a keen eye on how our academy product does at Kingston Park.”
