Huddersfield forward Chester Butler loaned out to Championship club
Championship club Bradford have signed Wales international Chester Butler on a season-long loan from Super League side Huddersfield.
The 26-year-old came through the ranks at Halifax before joining Huddersfield in 2019. He has endured a tough three years with the Giants due to injury.
Butler, who is the grandson of Great Britain and Wales legend Colin Dixon, has won four caps for Wales and played in the 2017 World Cup.
Bradford coach John Kear said: “I am delighted to have Chester Butler on board.
“He has suffered a horrendous couple of years since joining Huddersfield as an exciting, young back-row prospect but has been struck down by injury but that has now cleared.”

Kear added: “He played in the two trial games for Huddersfield. We felt we could help him, he could help us and similarly it can help Huddersfield Giants so that’s how the move has come about.
“Chester was showing signs of being a really good back-rower. He’s the grandson of the great Colin Dixon. He was a real handful at Halifax and he has been so at Wales too.
“He is a young player with lots of potential with a good frame, with good pace he has all the physical attributes now it is about getting him back onto the field.”
Butler will make his first appearance in Bradford colours on Friday when their reserves take on Midlands Hurricanes at Odsal.
Next up for the Bulls first team in the Championship is a clash with Leigh in Monday night Rugby League. The match at the Leigh Sports Village will be shown live on Premier Sports (7:45pm).
