Huddersfield Head Coach Ian Watson has given an update on Will Pryce, Jermaine McGillvary and Ricky Leutele following the Giants’ win over Toulouse.

The three missed the match that saw the Giants win 42-14 to get their Super League campaign off to a winning start.

Watson said it is now up to them to prove they deserve a place back in the side ahead of next week’s clash against Hull KR.

He said: “Jermaine (McGillvary) was back out running today, so hopefully he should be fully fit by the time we get back to the UK.

“I don’t know if Ricky (Leutele) will be fit next week or not, we will have to wait and see. Will (Pryce) has had a bit of time where he has missed a bit of training, he will be back at some point.

“It is difficult to change a team when they are winning. It is up to the guys once they play to hold the shirts. I think everyone out there did well, so we will see.”

Senior try a turning point for Watson

Watson also pointed to Louis Senior’s try in the last play of the first half as a turning point that helped his side win the game.

The Giants were trailing 10-0 after 20 minutes of the game after a slow start, but tries from Luke Yates, and then Innes and Louis Senior turned the game around before the break.

Watson believed that try gave them momentum heading into the second half.

He added: “It was probably about 25-30 minutes in the game (the turning point). But the key one was probably the try just before half-time.

“That probably turned the game in our favour, and gave us a bit of momentum going into the second half.”
