Impressive Channel 4 figures
Channel 4 and their opening Super League game between Leeds and Warrington received impressing viewing figures on Saturday afternoon.
This year marks the first time for Super League to be broadcast live on free-to-air television.
Next up, Adam Hills and the Channel 4 team head to Hull FC for their home clash with St Helens on Saturday, February 19.
Average of 531,000 across the 12pm-2:45pm slot yesterday for Super League on Channel 4. But the match average audience was even higher I'm told: 631,000. Highest EVER recorded audience for a live Super League match.

Jansin Turgut returns
Former Hull and Salford forward returned to the field for the first time over the weekend.
Turgut hasn’t played for over two years after falling three stories from an Ibiza car park. He featured for West Hull over the weekend.
It’s been a journey.

Fuifui Moimoi hit hard
Rugby league veteran Fuifui Moimoi might feel sore after this hit from Lock Lane’s Danny Maskill!
The two sides met in the Challenge Cup over the weekend, with Hornets coming out on top.
41-year-old Moimoi is in his second season with the club.

Summer rugby
Games across all divisions went ahead in wet and windy conditions once again this weekend.
Barrow claimed another win in wet conditions, this time over Newcastle.
Their previous game with Whitehaven saw torrential rain in Cumbria. A video of the weather from last week has reached almost 50,000 views on social media.

Third red in opening Super League weekend
Hull full-back Jake Connor became the third player to be sent off with a red in the opening weekend of Super League.
Catalans’ Dylan Napa and 2022 Leeds recruit James Bentley were also both sent from the field for high tackles.
