RL Today: Lewis Dodd backed for England & Brad Dwyer on yellow card
Lewis Dodd backed for England
St Helens half-back Lewis Dodd has been tipped to play for England by head coach Kristian Woolf (St Helens Star).
Woolf told St Helens Star: “He’s got an extremely bright future and I think at some stage he’s most definitely going to play for England, whether that’s this year or not is dependent on a number of things, his form, other players’ form.”
Brad Dwyer learned lesson after yellow card
Leeds hooker Brad Dwyer has learned his lesson after being sin binned during their defeat against Warrington (Yorkshire Post).
Dwyer told Yorkshire Post:“It is just about adapting to that. It was a costly error for us and hopefully I’ve learned my lesson. I think across Super League everyone will be learning that lesson pretty quick, with how strict they are being.”
Harry Bowes to get chance to “play against legend”
Wakefield Trinity hooker Harry Bowes will get the chance to play on Friday against St Helens (Wakefield Express).
Head Coach Willie Poching told Wakefield Express: “You have got to start off somewhere, why not start against one of the best our competition has ever had.
“James Roby is still going as good as he ever has. We use the term legend quite loosely at times but he is a Super League legend for what he has done.”
