Sylvain Houles confident Toulouse can avoid relegation from Super League
Toulouse Olympique coach Sylvain Houles is confident his side can avoid the drop in Super League despite not having won a game in the top flight so far.
The French side have endured a tough start to their maiden Super League season. They have lost their first five games of the season.
Toulouse’s latest defeat came at Super League rivals Wakefield on Friday night. Trinity ran-out 18-6 winners at Belle Vue.
Speaking after the game, Sylvain Houles said: “Very poor second half. I thought we went into the game in the first half well but we could not get the fifth option right.
“Our kicking game was not good, we have Tony (Gigot) and Lucas (Albert) who can kick the ball and they are very good but we could not get there, I don’t know how many times we got tackled on the fifth
“You can’t blame the effort, I thought the boys defended really hard and very well but after that we didn’t get any territorial positions and it’s hard to score tries when you don’t go down their end.”

Houles is still upbeat about his team’s chances of staying up in Super League this season though.
He said: “For us every week we have been playing better and better and today for us the target was a win to make sure we move forward.
“There’s still 22 games to play, 44 points so there’s a long way to go, it’s a long season.
“We’re confident, I like what the players are doing, and fighting for each other.”
Toulouse face another tough battle next Saturday as they welcome champions St Helens to the Stade Ernest Wallon.
