Stuart Littler will take charge of Oldham for the first time in 2022. The Ireland international coach arrived on a two-year contract covering 2022 and 2023.
Brendan Sheridan, who has already spent two years at the club, will assist Littler.
The role will combine with his continued Ireland duties, who will feature at this year’s Rugby League World Cup.
He was most recently in charge with Swinton in 2021, before leaving the club.
In his playing career, Littler made more than 450 career appearances. He began his career at Salford, before joining Leigh.
The Ireland international also represented Rochdale and Swinton in his career. He led the Lions to their highest finish in 21 years – ninth in the Championship table in 2019.
Oldham will play their home games at Vestacare Stadium in 2022. They open their campaign against Keighley on March 27, before travelling to Hunslet.
