Man of Steel 2022: Jai Field returns to top
Wigan full-back Jai Field returns to the top of the Man of Steel leaderboard following his performance against Castleford in round six.
Field, 24, crossed for his seventh try of the season in the club’s win at the DW Stadium. He picked up three Man of Steel points and returned to the top with a total of 12 so far this season.
He also has the most metres so far in the season with 967 – 68 more than next best Matty Ashton.
Team-mate Liam Farrell, who bagged a brace against Lee Radford’s side, collected two points. Joe Westerman received one.
Salford 26-12 Leeds
Winger Joe Burgess collects three points following his side’s victory over the Rhinos. The winger received praise from his head coach Paul Rowley following the fixture.
Rowley believes Burgess remains one of the four or five best wingers available to England coach Shaun Wane and has backed his man to force his way into the side in time for the autumn World Cup on home soil.
Salford skipper Elijah Taylor picked up his first points of the season with two. Leeds captain Kruise Leeming collected one.
Catalans 18-10 Hull KR
Hooker Michael McIlorum collected the maximum points following his side’s fifth win of the season. Hull KR centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall collected two points. Catalans half-back Josh Drinkwater picked up one.
Toulouse 22-20 St Helens
Super League’s newest side Toulouse picked up their first points of the season following their stunning victory over champions St Helens.
Tony Gigot played a crucial role in his side’s triumph and picks up three points – taking his tally to five for the season. St Helens half-back Jonny Lomax collected two, while Toulouse goal-kicker Chris Hankinson picked up his first point of the season.
Warrington 22-38 Wakefield
Mason Lino collects the maximum points following his man of the match display against Warrington. His side claimed their second victory of the season at the Halliwell Jones Stadium live on Channel 4. Lino now has six Man of Steel points for the season.
Half-back partner Jacob Miller collected two, while forward Matty Ashurst gets his first.
Hull 14-6 Huddersfield
It’s a full house for Hull following their win over the Giants. Mitieli Vulikijapani collects the three points. Brad Fash gets two and Andrew Savelio is handed one.
