Salford duo head to Widnes on loan
Widnes have signed Salford pair Jack Wells and Danny Addy on initial two-week loan deals.
Addy, 31, has played 18 times for Scotland and has had spells at Hull KR and Bradford.
The versatile forward, who can play at 13, hooker or in the halves, will go straight in to contention for the Vikings game at Newcastle on Monday night.
He told the club’s official website: “I’m looking forward to playing. Hopefully I can bring some energy to the team.
“I like to ball play in the middle, I can play a few positions so I’ll have a chat with the coach and see where best fits.”
Danny Addy has made five appearances for Salford this season, but hasn’t played since the defeat to Hull KR on March 11.
Wells, 24, played against the Vikings last month while on a short-term deal at Barrow.
He said: “Hopefully I can bring a bit of go-forward to the pack. It’ll be good to get some game time under my belt.”
Live games and other moves
Widnes have lost their last three games having had an encouraging start to the season.
They were beaten by York a fortnight ago and also lost in the cup at Leigh, either side of a home defeat in front of the Premier Sports cameras against Barrow.
Premier Sports are set to announce their selections for live games in June and July on Monday, ahead of the Newcastle-Widnes game.
Meanwhile, Salford have also sent out two other players on loan to Championship clubs.
Centre Matty Costello has joined Widnes’ next opponents Newcastle on a season-long loan, with a call back option.
France international full-back Morgan Escare has linked up on a short-term deal with Barrow, having spent the past few weeks at Wakefield.
