Sam Powell and Brad Fash referred to tribunal

Wigan’s Sam Powell and Hull forward Brad Fash have both been referred to tribunal following Super League’s Rivals Round.

Wigan hooker Powell, 29, has been charged for a crusher tackling following his side’s defeat to St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

He received a Grade E Dangerous Contact for his tackle on Jon Bennison.

Brad Fash charged for biting

Hull’s Brad Fash has been charged for biting following their Good Friday loss to Hull KR at Craven Park.

He has been referred to tribunal with a Grade E Biting.

More bans

A total of six players were charged following Rivals Round in Super League.

St Helens centre Konrad Hurrell will miss their games against Huddersfield and Castleford following a two-match suspension. He has been charged for a crusher tackle and received a Grade B Dangerous Contact.

Leeds’ Zane Tetevano will miss the same amount of games following a charge for a late hit on passer. He received a Grade B charge.

Joe Chan received a two-match suspension against Toulouse on Thursday. It was Super League’s first ever French derby. He was shown a red card by the official in the second half in Perpignan. 

Crocodile tackle?

Lucas Albert received a two match ban for a ‘crocodile tackle’ against Catalans. The match review minutes stated: “Defender uses any part of their body forcefully to twist, bend or apply pressure to the limb or limbs of an opposing player in a way that involves an unacceptable risk of injury to that player.”

No penalty notices will take effect until midnight on Wednesday. This means each player is eligible for the Super League fixtures taking place on Easter Monday.
