Barrow Raiders sign young Wakefield forward as Croft extends stay
Barrow Raiders have signed promising Wakefield forward Sam Eseh on a two-week loan deal.
Centre Jack Croft has also extended his stay at the club.
Eseh was handed his first professional contract by Trinity ahead of the 2021 season. He was named in their 21-man squad for the first time against Hull FC in April that year.
The former East Leeds amateur was handed squad number 25 ahead of the current Super League campaign. He has only featured for the club’s reserves team in 2022.
Jack Croft extends Barrow Raiders stay
Meanwhile, Croft arrived at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium on an initial two-week loan deal on earlier in April.
The young centre featured in the Raiders’ recent 23-22 victory over Bradford at Odsal, as well as the club’s Good Friday defeat to league leaders Featherstone.
Croft has made 10 appearances for the Wakefield first team.
The pair will go straight into contention for Sunday’s trip to Halifax Panthers.
Andy Gaffney, Barrow’s director of rugby, said: “Sam is a big strong impact forward who comes in with some great recommendations in and around the first team.
“He comes in from a great environment at Wakefield, and I would like to thank Michael Carter [Wakefield Trinity chairman] and head coach Willie Poching for making these players available to us.”
Barrow travel to Halifax Panthers in the Championship on Sunday.
