Malta boss on squad
“On paper, this is surely one of the best squads Malta has put together,” said Attard. “It’s exciting to see what the team can do together for a home crowd this Saturday night.
“We’ve got highly skilled players joining us from a couple of the overseas leagues and we’re ready to put on a show.
“As a coach, it’s never easy to drop players from the squad. But the players not selected should keep their heads held high and should know that I appreciate all their effort and their time that has gone into the preparation for this international. I thank them all and they’re still part of our team.”
The Medieval Shield between Malta and Montenegro will be hosted at Mosta FC’s Charles Abela Stadium, kick-off 7:00pm.
Several players will be making the trip from England, including Hunslet’s Dean Zammit. The prop has joined the League 1 side for the 2022 campaign.
