Brad Takairangi suffers hamstring injury & latest on Frankie Halton
Hull KR have confirmed that Brad Takairangi suffered a torn hamstring during the club’s defeat to Castleford on Sunday.
Takairangi, 32, pulled up with the injury chasing down opposition Jake Mamo at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle. He was named in the halves alongside Rowan Milnes following the season-ending injury to Jordan Abdull.
The club has confirmed that the Cook Islands international will undergo scans to determine the severity of the injury.
Frankie Halton closing in on return
Back-rower Frankie Halton has returned to team training following his sprained ankle injury. He sustained the injury during the Hull derby on Good Friday and has been sidelined ever since.
The Ireland international could return for Tony Smith’s side this weekend against Catalans. The clash will be live on Channel 4 on Saturday.
Winger Sam Wood is nearing on his return. The-24-year-old is recovering from a dislocated patella (knee cap) he sustained in the defeat to Leeds. However, he is likely to miss the clash with Catalans.
Will Dagger looks set to feature against the Dragons despite a knee injury. Elliot Minchella will be available this week after overcoming an ankle sprain suffered in the Robins’ cup loss to Huddersfield.
Hull KR have also confirmed that Abdull will undergo surgery to repair his torn quad. Scotland international Kane Linnett is also set to have surgery on his ruptured bicep next week.
Two more injuries alongside Brad Takairangi
