Lewis Tierney thinks Scotland have the potential to spring a few surprises during the upcoming Four Nations.

The 22-year old was one of 10 uncapped players to be named in head coach Steve McCormack’s final squad.

“In the camp we have got a very positive attitude,” the Wigan winger said.

“We want to come here and cause a bit of trouble, cause a few upsets and just get stuck in.

“It will be good to test ourselves against the best in the world going into the World Cup next year.”

Tierney also expressed his excitement at facing Australia in the first game of the tournament, which kicks off on Friday.

“It will be one of the biggest games that I have played in and the best team that I’ve played against,” he told Love Rugby League.

“Personally I just want to put in a consistent performance and see how it goes.

“I am excited to see what we can do really. We have not been on the scene much in the big games.”

Tierney has been impressed by the quality in the squad, with a number of players plying their trade in Super League and the NRL.

“We have got the best team we’ve ever had,” he said.

“There are some really good individuals. It is going to be a massive challenge for us to push these teams but I think we have got a really good chance.”
