South Sydney are considering signing Kevin Locke for the 2017 NRL season.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Souths coach Michael Maguire met Locke in New Zealand last week.

The Rabbitohs may hand the fullback a train-and-trial contract. The Dragons have also been linked with a move for Locke.

The 27-year old’s manager, Scott Hill, believes he can back to his best.

“He’s admitted he has made mistakes, he hasn’t had the best upbringing and he’s been through a lot of tough times, like depression,” Hill said.

“No one has really given him any guidance and support to make smarter choices, it’s hard to make smarter choices when you don’t know how to.”
