Hull FC smash sorry Dragons

Hull FC have kept hold of top spot with a comprehensive 44-0 victory against Catalans at the KCOM Stadium.

The Black and Whites got off the mark after 12 minutes, Marc Sneyd’s kick finding Dean Hadley who touched down.

Catalans’ defence was left wanting for Hull’s second try, Sneyd’s kick being allowed to bounce before Mahe Fonua dived across.

Mark Minichiello added his name to the scoresheet following Fetuli Talanoa’s dart down the line. Sneyd nailed the conversion to give the Airlie Birds an 18-0 lead with just under ten minutes left.

A pair of Sneyd penalties further extended Hull’s lead going into the interval.

Talanoa scored yet another four-pointer for the Black and Whites, diving over in the corner after Jamie Shaul’s pass early in the second half.

The home team continued to dismantle the Catalans, Talanoa intercepting an offload from Eloi Pelissier before scoring a length-of-the-field try.

Fonua continued to expose the frailing Catalans’ defensive line, spinning away from two before handing the ball to Sneyd who touched down to put the Black and Whites 36-0 in front.

Frank Pritchard crashed over in the corner with eight minutes left after a brilliant offload from Kirk Yeaman.

Things went from bad to worse for the Dragons as Remi Casty was sent to the sin bin for a high tackle on Steve Michaels.
