Halifax striving hard for consistency

Halifax are in a run of bad form, and lost 24-22 to Dewsbury at home last weekend.

Coach Richard Marshall wants to see more consistency from his team against Workington this week.

“We’re in a tough spot at the moment, but there’s only one way we can go and that’s up,” he said.

“We’ll only do that through working hard and then start to enjoy the run in towards the end of the season and finish on a bit of a high.

“We didn’t lose for seven games but now it’s completely the opposite. The shows the level of inconsistent performances which we need to improve upon.

“Whitehaven are fighting for their lives and it looks like they’ve pulled together. They are putting a decent team out at the moment.

“We can’t take any team lightly, let alone one who are fighting for their survival. We’re not playing well enough and we need to improve this week and we’ve got to be more desperate than the opposition for a win.”

Ben Kay returns to the squad and prop Luke Ambler could also be available.
