Will Smith to make Hull debut in club’s first trip to Toulouse
Hull’s new signing Will Smith will make his debut for the men in Black and White when they travel to Toulouse for the first time on Friday night.
Brett Hodgson has made two changes to his Hull squad. Connor Wynne and Ligi Sao both drop out through suspension.
The pair are replaced by Charlie Severs and Will Smith, who arrived at the club last week.
Utility-back Smith has made 84 appearances in the NRL for Penrith Panthers, Parramatta Eels and Gold Coast Titans. He has also played for the Indigenous All Stars on two occasions.
Will Smith wants to help Hull reach play-offs
He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to get back playing some footy at a high level and to try and help Hull FC get to the semi-finals.
“It’s a talented group of players at Hull, they’ve been doing it really tough recently but hopefully I can bring something to the group and when we get a few more players back on the field we can have a real push for the finals.”
Toulouse without Italy front-rower
Meanwhile, Toulouse will be without star prop Daniel Alvaro due to suspension. The Rugby Football League’s match review panel gave the Italy international a one-match ban for dangerous contact in their defeat to Salford last weekend.
Toulouse: Jussaume, Marcon, Norman, Albert, Navarrete, Hansen, Peyroux, Marion, Puech, Bretherton, Paulo, Cunningham, Bergal, Hankinson, Sangare, Russell, Ashall-Bott, Peats, Belmas, Stefani, Gigot.
