Ricky Leutele and Nene Macdonald on the move?
Rugby League Live are reporting that Leigh are looking to sign Huddersfield centre Ricky Leutele for the 2023 season.
Should this move happen, it may see Nene Macdonald swap Leigh for Leeds, who tonight announced the departure of Liam Sutcliffe.
Comedian named in Australia’s PDRL squad
Comedian Adam Hills has been named in the Australia squad for the PDRL World Cup in England at the end of the year. (NRL).
Hills has been a pioneer of the sport, and helped raise the profile of it in the UK. He has played for Warrington since 2018. But he declared his allegiances to Australia during an airing of The Last Leg, where the draw for the World Cup was completed.
Harry Newman says Leeds must keep improving
Leeds centre Harry Newman has said they must keep improving if they are to keep hold of sixth place. (Yorkshire Evening Post).
Newman told Yorkshire Evening Post: “Everyone knows we are in the top-six. It has taken hard work, fighting, playing together and improving.
“We have done that, but if we’re going to do what we want to do this year we’ve just got to take it week by week and continue improving.”
Craig Lingard backs Luke Hooley for Super League
Batley Head Coach Craig Lingard has backed full-back Luke Hoooley to be a success in the Super League. (Leeds Live).
He had been linked with a move to Leeds Rhinos earlier this week, and his coach believes he has the attributes to be a success at the top level.
Kristian Woolf believes too many games are played
St Helens Head Coach Kristian Woolf believes the number of games being played in the Super League is damaging the product. (St Helens Star).
Woolf told St Helens Star: “We are playing too many games and you are starting to see the effect of that both in terms of what players you can put out on the field. Both Saints and Cas had players missing from our top line up (we are at least 6). That is not including injuries to your younger guys underneath who would fill the gaps. There is no doubt it is affecting quality.”
Tributes paid to brother of Danny Kirmond
Featherstone and York are among the clubs to pay tribute to Jack Kirmond, younger brother of Knights forward Danny, who died as a result of injuries he sustained during an assault. (Yorkshire Evening Post).
The incident happened outside Sharlston Rovers ARLFC in the early hours of Sunday morning. West Yorkshire Police have confirmed the incident is now a murder investigation.

Nene Macdonald has worked with Rohan Smith before. Macdonald played under Smith whilst he was in charge of North Devils.
