Nathan Peats to consider Greece call-up at World Cup
Toulouse hooker Nathan Peats has confirmed he has held discussions with Greece and will consider representing his heritage at this year’s World Cup.
The 31-year-old qualifies through his grandfather, and has never represented the country before.
The former NRL player has made more than 200 career appearances and made the switch to Toulouse mid-way through the current Super League season.
He represented New South Wales three times during the 2017 Origin in Australia, and has also played for the Indigenous All Stars.
Now this year, he could represent Greece in their first ever World Cup appearance.
However, Peats admitted he will have to consider the potential call-up, declaring his body may need a rest after a gruelling 12 months.
“I was definitely keen last year and was going to put my hand up,” Peets told Love Rugby League.
“This year, I think I’ve played almost 50 games non-stop with Super League last year, then French Elite 1 then heading straight back into Super League with Toulouse.
“I’ll see how the body manages at the end of the year.”
