Brodie Croft the half-back of the year in Super League?
Salford’s superstar signing Brodie Croft has been the best half-back in Super League this season.
That is the view of Warrington prop and rugby league pundit Kyle Amor, who has been impressed with the stellar displays of Croft this season.
Croft, 25, has proved to be an excellent signing for the Red Devils. He has scored six tries and provided 24 assists in 25 Super League matches this season.
“Brodie Croft has been, for me, probably the best half-back of the year,” Amor told the BBC 5 Live Rugby League Podcast. “He’s been outstanding.
“There’s a couple of players there at Salford who it wouldn’t surprise me if the bigger clubs came (in for them). I don’t know the contract situation but it wouldn’t surprise me if some business ended up happening at the end of the year because they’ve got some quality.
“The amount of times he takes the line on and beats middle defenders happens far too many times.
“I was talking to Matty Lees (St Helens prop) about him the other day. Matty said ‘even when you think you’ve got him, you haven’t got him’ and that was coming from Matty Lees who is a pretty good defender in the middle.
“Croft’s kicking game and his ability to inject pace and his pass selection… Everything I’ve seen from him has been incredible so he is certainly one that’s caught my eye.”

Brodie Croft leading Salford’s charge for the play-offs
The Red Devils currently occupy the sixth and final play-off spot in the Super League table. Paul Rowley’s side face Castleford and Warrington in their final two matches of the regular season.
And Croft has been leading the Red Devils’ charge for a place in the finals. He has 411 caries to his name, with the Super League’s leading carrier Ash Handley (Leeds) only being 13 ahead of him.
The former Melbourne and Brisbane star is also amongst those with the most clean breaks in the competition with 21; and tackle busts with 79.
