Toulouse belong in Super League, says Sylvain Houles
Toulouse boss Sylvain Houles believes his side belong in Super League, and will learn lessons from being relegated in their maiden season in the top flight.
The French club’s relegation back to the Championship was confirmed last week.
On Saturday, they suffered a 36-16 defeat to reigning champions St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium in their final game of the season.
“We pushed them very hard and that’s something to be proud of,” Houles said. “We had nothing to play for and it was our third game in nine days. I couldn’t be more proud.”

Toulouse to learn lessons from relegation
Toulouse managed five wins from 27 rounds in their first-ever season in Super League.
Houles, whose Toulouse side went the season unbeaten in the Championship last season, believes his club belongs in Super League; and will be doing everything in their power to make sure they come straight back up.
“We need to make sure we build on these things for next season and then I believe we’d be better prepared to take another shot at Super League.
“I hope most of the team will stay with us for next season and show the same spirit. We wanted to make sure we finished on a good note and leave a good image of our team on Super League.
“Super League is a great product and I believe we belong there.”
