Carney in contract limbo
Todd Carney is still waiting to see if he can secure a return to the NRL and admits coming back to Super League is also on his radar.
Carney is in dispute with Cronulla over his exit from the club. The five-eighth needs his return to the competition green-lighted by the NRL.
“I’d love to be in the NRL, but if it [playing again] means I go back to England I’m still in contact with a couple of clubs there,” Carney told Rugby League Week.
“Everyone’s hopeful and I’ve had a lot of support, but it’s up to the bosses who run the [NRL] game.
“But until this Sharks stuff is over, which will hopefully be soon so we can move on, until that’s finished I’m still in the unknown.
“I just need to focus on this and after the fight I’ll go back home and spend some time with mum and my sisters over Christmas and then I’ll make a decision and I’ll see what I have to do to hopefully be playing here in Australia or over in England.”
