Gale: Bradford are a sleeping giant

Luke Gale has described his former club Bradford as a “sleeping giant” and one that will “probably be asleep for a lot longer because who knows what’s going on”.

Bradford are still in administration, their third in the past four years. A new owner has yet to be confirmed.

Gale spent three seasons at the Bulls from 2012 to 2014, making 64 appearances for the club.

The Castleford halfback described the situation at Bradford as “sad”.
 
“It’s very sad, every time they seem to get a bit of good news it’s one step forward and two steps back,” he told Love Rugby League.

“It’s a sleeping giant but it’ll probably be asleep for a lot longer because who knows what’s going on.

“It’s a big club and I moved back there from London, it’s really sad and I hope someone can resurrect it.

“It’s not good for rugby league really.”

Gale will miss Castleford’s Boxing Day clash with Hull FC, following his involvement with England in the Four Nations.

“I won’t be involved, I asked Powelly if I’d be able to play but I’d have been [only] training 10 days,” he said.

“I won’t be involved but I look forward to seeing ‘Shenny’ back. I’ll be watching from the stands with a couple of coats on and matching scarves, I’m looking forward to it.”

Gale is expected to be play in his first trial next month against St Helens.
