The favourites to win Super League, Challenge Cup, Man of Steel, top try scorer and relegation odds
Four-time successive champions St Helens enter the new season as favourites to scoop every trophy on offer according to the Super League 2023 odds.
They are 2/1 favourites with competition sponsor’s Betfred to win the League Leaders’ Shield for an 11th time and 2/1 favourites to make it five in a row.
Super League 2023 League Leaders’ shield odds
- St Helens 2/1
- Wigan 10/3
- Warrington 7/1
- Leeds 7/1
- Catalans 8/1
- Huddersfield 10/1
- Castleford 16/1
- Hull 16/1
- Salford 30/1
- Hull KR 40/1
- Leigh 50/1
- Wakefield 100/1
Tip: Struggling to look beyond the top two for this, but Huddersfield at 10/1 might be worth an outside punt.
Super League 2023 odds Grand Final winner
There’s naturally not much difference in the order of odds between finishing top and winning the Grand Final.
- St Helens 2/1
- Wigan 4/1
- Warrington 8/1
- Leeds 8/1
- Catalans 10/1
- Huddersfield 14/1
- Hull 16/1
- Castleford 20/1
- Salford 33/1
- Leigh 40/1
- Hull KR 50/1
- Wakefield 100/1
Tip: Same as above really with Saints and Wigan, Catalans at 10/1 to do what they’ve never done before as a third choice option.
Challenge Cup 2023 odds
Saints are also favourites to win the Challenge Cup on its return to Wembley, and follow up their success in 2021. Holders Wigan are 9/1 second favourites, while last season’s finalists Huddersfield might be worth a punt at 16/1.
- St Helens 7/2
- Wigan 9/2
- Leeds 6/1
- Catalans 6/1
- Warrington 8/1
- Hull 10/1
- Castleford 12/1
- Huddersfield 16/1
- Salford 16/1
- Leigh 25/1
- Hull KR 25/1
- Wakefield 33/1
Tip: After getting so close last year, Huddersfield at 16/1 to go one step further with the squad they’ve put together looks a no brainer.
Super League 2023 to reach the play-offs
Betfred’s odds have a top six of St Helens, Wigan, Leeds, Warrington, Catalans and Huddersfield.
That’s only one difference to last season’s play-off make-up, with Warrington tipped to replace Salford, who won a battle with Castleford to finish in the top six last season and eventually bowed out to eventual champions St Helens.
Leeds also sneaked in to the play-offs late on, and completed an unlikely run to the Grand Final having started the season poorly.
Only Leigh (5/1) and Wakefield (9/1) are rated as real outsiders for making the top six.
- St Helens 1/50
- Wigan 1/25
- Leeds 1/3
- Warrington 4/11
- Catalans 2/5
- Huddersfield 4/7
- Hull 6/5
- Castleford 6/4
- Hull KR 9/4
- Salford 5/2
- Leigh 5/1
- Wakefield 9/1
Tip: Salford will be bemused by their odds on finishing in the top six, and that makes their 5/2 a decent flutter.
Super League 2023 to finish bottom odds
Wakefield are being tipped by the bookies to finish bottom of Super League and be relegated from the competition for the first time.
Newly-promoted Leigh are 9/4 second favourites for relegation, with Hull KR and Salford the only two others that they feel are any close to danger.
- Wakefield 7/4
- Leigh 9/4
- Hull KR 5/2
- Salford 7/1
- Hull 25/1
- Castleford 28/1
- Catalans 40/1
- Huddersfield 50/1
- Warrington 50/1
- Leeds 80/1
- Wigan 500/1
- St Helens 500/1
Tip: Tough to find value in this relegation market, if you want to plump for an outside chance, maybe Hull KR 5/2 is the one for you.
Man of Steel 2023 winner
Leigh hooker Edwin Ipape is being tipped to win Man of Steel in his maiden season in Super League, priced as 11/1 joint favourite with St Helens star Jack Welsby.
Leopards coach Adrian Lam says Ipape’s favourite tag is unfair on the Papua New Guinea international, who hasn’t played a top flight game yet.
- Edwin Ipape 11/1
- Jack Welsby 11/1
- Bevan French 14/1
- Brodie Croft 16/1
- George Williams 16/1
- Jake Clifford 16/1
- Jai Field 16/1
- Aidan Sezer 16/1
- Text Hoy 16/1
- Jonny Lomax 16/1
- Jake Connor 20/1
- Mitchell Pearce 20/1
- Matt Dufty 20/1
Tip: Man of Steel always a tough one to call due to the nature of the voting system. It would be a surprise if Welsby won it, given that Saints’ best performers are often spread across the field. Brodie Croft and George Williams might represent the best value in the above list.
Super League odds 2023 top try scorer
- Bevan French 7/2
- Tommy Makinson 11/1
- Ash Handley 11/1
- Liam Marshall 14/1
- Ken Sio 16/1
- Tom Johnstone 16/1
- Greg Eden 16/1
- Jai Field 16/1
- Jon Bennison 18/1
- Joe Burgess 20/1
- Tee Ritson 20/1
- Ryan Hall 20/1
- Josh Charnley 20/1
- Tom Davies 20/1
- Derrell Olpherts 20/1
- Matt Dufty 20/1
- David Fusitu’a 20/1
Tip: Wingers are the obvious go to for this and as the stand out senior winger at St Helens, it might be Tommy Makinson’s year.
