Hunslet add three players
Hunslet have confirmed the signing of three players ahead of the start of the 2017 season.
Winger Omar Alrawi joins from Hunslet Club Parkside, along with full back Marcus Webb and hooker Ben Blakeston. All three have inked 12-month contracts.
Blakeston is a current Pontefract College player, a 17-year-old who has also played for Methley Warriors.
Webb comes from South Wales, having played for the South Wales Scorpions at the age of 17. He is a Welsh Under-18 international who is currently a student in Leeds.
Alrawi, 27, is a former Queens player who has developed well whilst at Parkside.
Hunslet director of Rugby Darren Williams is pleased that the three have signed.
“This is another success off the back of the initial Hunslet RLFC Rookie back in November,” he said.
“We signed Brett Whitehead instantly as he impressed sufficiently on the day and head coach James Coyle saw enough to offer a preseason trial to these three players as well.
“The preseason fixtures are almost upon us as our first competitive hit out is at Featherstone Rovers on Sunday in the Gareth Swift Memorial game, and James and his ssistant Steve Deakin have been suitably impressed to offer these three a one year contract for 2017.”
