Challenge Cup second round: Results and round-up
The draw for the third round of the Challenge Cup will be held at Featherstone on Monday, February 27, live on BBC Sport and iPlayer (6pm).
There were a number entertaining matches in Round Two of the Challenge Cup, with amateur club Rochdale Mayfield knocking out League 1 opposition Cornwall 20-14 on Saturday.
It was a good weekend for Rochdale’s clubs, with the Hornets running out comfortable 42-4 victors over London Skolars at home.
There was an all-League 1 affair in Doncaster, with the hosts just edging past Oldham 28-26 to reach the third round.
Dublin City Exiles, who became the first-ever Irish club to win a Challenge Cup tie, bowed out of the competition after being humbled 68-14 at Orrell St James.
Ashton Bears were only only 14-8 behind at half-time against League 1 side Dewsbury. However, the Rams pulled away in the second half and won 38-8.
There are 12 community clubs in the Challenge Cup third round – Rochdale Mayfield, Wath Brow Hornets, Stanningley, West Bowling, Thatto Heath Crusaders, Leigh Miners Rangers, York Acorn, Wests Warriors, Hunslet ARLFC, Siddal, Orrell St James and Westgate Common.
And there are seven League 1 clubs in the draw for the third round – Dewsbury Rams, North Wales Crusaders, Rochdale Hornets, Workington Town, Midlands Hurricanes, Doncaster and Hunslet.
