Brian Smith confirmed as Thailand coach

Experienced rugby league coach Brian Smith has been appointed as coach of the Thailand national side, as well as its associated ASEAN teams.

A statement from the Rugby League XIII Sports Association (Thailand) reads:

“The Rugby League XIII Sports Association (Thailand) are proud to announce the appointment of Brian Smith to the position of Head Coach and Director of Coaching Development for Thailand RLXIII & the ASEAN representative team debuting at the Cabramatta International Nines on January 28th.

“Brian’s extensive playing and first grade coaching career has seen him play 31 first grade games at St. George and South Sydney and Coach a massive 675 first grade games in the United Kingdom & Australia.

“Brian will be the Director of coaching for a new joint project in ASEAN & we are proud to welcome him to the RLXIII family.”
