Brailey: The crowd size was incredible
Cronulla rookie Jayden Brailey says making his first-grade debut in the World Club Challenge against Wigan is something he will never forget.
Brailey played his first match in the number 9 jersey for the Sharks on Sunday.
Joe Burgess scored a hat-trick on the way to helping the Warriors beat Cronulla become World Club Challenge winners.
“It’s something I’ll never forget,” Brailey said.
“The crowd was the most surprising thing. I’ve never experienced that before not even with a home crowd.
“After playing my first game in the top grade I am aiming to move forward and establish myself in the NRL competition.”
The 20-year old admitted the intensity of the World Club Challenge was testing.
“Every tackle you have to put everything into it,” Brailey said.
“They have big blokes with the likes of Frank Paul-Nuuausala, Ben Flower and Sean O’Loughlin and they’re coming at you every set.
“I had to get used to the conditions but the boys were really good with me,” he said.
“I felt confident coming into this game but we’ve got to move forward.”
Cronulla kick off their NRL campaign next Thursday at home to the Brisbane Broncos.
