Simona could be hit with NRL life ban
West Tigers outside back Tim Simona is expected to be hit with a life ban by the NRL later this week.
The Tigers centre is due to meet with the NRL on Friday to contest the charges of match fixing which have been levelled at him.
Leading Australian rugby league pundit Paul Kent is sure that Simona’s NRL career is over.
“He’ll be rubbed out for life on Friday,” Kent said on Fox Sports NRL 360.
“The NRL is in possession of evidence that he was backing opposition players to be first try-scorer in games he was playing.
“Todd Greenberg came out last year very strongly and said that anybody caught match fixing will not have a place in the game.”
Simona is accused of having associates place bets on players he was marking to score tries when playing in games against Wests.
