Hull FC halfback Marc Sneyd has revealed he always harboured ambitions to be at the Black and Whites for several years.

The 26-year-old will remain at the KCOM Stadium until 2019 after signing a two-year contract extension.

“When I signed a few years ago the contract had a two-year option at the end of it, so when it came up I took it straight away,” he said.

“I don’t see any reason why I’d want to move anywhere else.

“I’m really happy here so there wasn’t any doubt as to whether I would take it.”

The former Salford man admits it was one of the easiest decisions he’s had to make when asked about staying with the club for the next few years.

Sneyd played a big part in everything good Hull FC did last year, including a first-ever Challenge Cup trophy at Wembley.

“I just got asked and took it,” he added.

“I didn’t really read too much into it if I’m honest.

“I’m happy and for the two-year option to come the club were obviously happy with the direction I’m going as well so it’s good all round I think.”

The reigning Hull FC Player of the Year spoke about the excitement at being able to play his part in helping the Airlie Birds replicate last season’s success.

“It’s not just me it’s us a club,” he told Love Rugby League.

“No one wants to be known for one season.

“We want to use that as a stepping stone, build on it and obviously push on and hopefully do similar things.”
