Brough return a boost for Giants
Huddersfield boss Rick Stone has bemoaned the club’s injury situation, but hopes having Danny Brough back in the team will be a lift for Thursday’s trip to Leeds.
The Giants are without a win in their last eight Super League games and were dumped out of the Challenge Cup by Swinton last weekend.
“It doesn’t matter what coach you are or what club you are at, if you have got thirteen of your senior players out then it is tough,” said Stone.
“That’s the realistic position that we are in and we have lost a couple of close games – we’ve been disappointing in a few games, but realistically it is a tough position and injuries can be the biggest factor at times and it is the biggest factor for us at the moment.
“We have just got to make sure we put our best possible 17 on the field for Thursday night and make sure we do our job appropriately.
“Getting some senior players back is going to be beneficial, but I think a derby game brings the best out of everyone.
“We’ve got a few blokes out after last week’s game and it makes it a little bit tougher again.
“Danny always makes a big difference to our team, particularly offensively, and he adds a bit of strike to our team and some quality in our kicking game. We are happy to have him back.”
