All Golds ready for semi-final test
Gloucestershire All Golds will look for redemption when they host North Wales Crusaders in the semi-final of the League 1 Cup on Sunday.
The All Golds reached this stage of the competition last season, but were overwhelmed 58-14 by York City Knights.
Head coach Lee Greenwood said: “We were very disappointed with the result and performance at York and we want to go out there and do better this year.
“I was confident going into the semi-final last year. Whether the players were I’m not sure, because we were beaten heavily. The guys that are still in the squad from then will want to right a few wrongs.
“We will go into this semi-final as underdogs because they did beat us last time. They’ve beaten Workington and Keighley so they’re a good, big side and we can’t let them get on top early doors.
“This is a big game for us. We’re still a relatively new club and there aren’t too many cup semi-finals we’ll be able to get to, so this is the best chance we’ll have to get to a final.
“We’re at home and we want to make sure it is hard for teams to come here and get a result – we’ve beaten North Wales and Keighley so far.
“We got to this stage last season and we were disappointed after being handed a hammering by York, so it would be nice to do ourselves justice this year.”
