Sharp wants improvement from Fev
Jon Sharp has urged Featherstone to improve on last week’s performance against Sheffield when they visit Rochdale on Sunday.
Rovers beat Sheffield 25-14, but Sharp believes his players will have to raise their game against a Hornets side which claimed a 10-9 success in the reverse fixture back in March.
“We got the points we needed against Sheffield but we weren’t great – we looked low on energy and cannot afford to do so against a solid Rochdale team,” he told the club’s official website.
“They are a good outfit – they play some exciting stuff and they got a win over us earlier in the season.
“There is no talk of revenge or payback from our point of view. The message we are sending to the players is about getting their own jobs done in order to perform how we want them to.
“Our winning ratio is pretty good and we need to keep it going. It is about us playing for 80 minutes, turning up and hitting the ground running.
“They pushed Hull KR close last time out, in fact they possibly should have beaten them, so we expect Rochdale to be high on confidence.”
