James Batchelor celebrates scoring a try for Hull KR

Hull KR forward James Batchelor has signed a new that will keep him at Craven Park until at least the end of the 2026 season.

The 25-year-old has scored five tries in 15 appearances for the Robins since arriving from fellow Super League club Wakefield ahead of this season.

Batchelor was one of Hull KR’s form players prior to his injury he suffered in their defeat to Salford at Magic Weekend. He made his return in their golden point win at Leeds last Friday.

On his new deal, Batchelor said: “It was pretty easy.

“Once the club approached me and said they wanted to extend my contract, I definitely wanted to speak to them about it, and then things got done quickly.

“It feels really good to be part of the club, and to know the club want me to be part of it long-term, it’s a real positive.”

Hull KR boss delighted to secure services of James Batchelor for the long-term

James Batchelor, the brother of England and St Helens forward Joe, came through the academy at Wakefield, making 96 first team appearances for Trinity before departing Belle Vue for Hull KR at the end of last season.

Robins coach Willie Peters says he is over the moon to see versatile forward Batchelor extend his stay at Craven Park.

Peters said: “There’s no doubt he would have had other teams chasing him and his signature for the next few years.

“As a player, we talk about the Hull KR way, and Batch lives that every day.

“They’re the players we want to have at the club long-term, so I’m pleased and happy for Batch, but also happy for the club as well to be able to secure his future.”
