Rovers hit by double injury blow
Featherstone’s Chris Ulugia has been ruled out for up to six weeks after scans revealed ankle ligament damage suffered during Rovers sixth-round Challenge Cup victory over Halifax.
Ulugia was helped from the field 30 minutes into last Thursday’s contest and while X-rays removed fears of a fracture to the Samoan three-quarter’s ankle, he will not feature again until June.
Rovers have also confirmed Luke Briscoe will miss the rest of May after suffering a similar ankle injury during the second half of the same game.
Jason Walton (knee) and Frankie Mariano (arm) are close to a recall having recently resumed full training.
Featherstone return to Championship action on Saturday at home to Dewsbury.
