Inglis reminds us that it’s good to talk

The announcement that Greg Inglis has entered a mental health rehabilitation facility is the latest reminder of the importance of keeping the subject at the forefront of public awareness.

South Sydney’s captain admitted himself into the facility last week and will be undergoing a series of programs and treatments to assist with his mental health.

The Rabbitohs issued a statement on Wednesday to advise the public of the situation.

The 30-year-old has not played an NRL game since round one when he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. The full-back will not play for the Rabbitohs again this season and is likely to miss the World Cup at the end of the year.

Inglis has previously promoted the NRL’s State Of Mind campaign and has done work with mental health programs.

State of Mind was established in 2011 with the aim of improving the mental health, wellbeing and working life of rugby league players and communities.
