Stone believes Giants will be fresher

Huddersfield boss Rick Stone thinks a week without a game will have benefited his team when they face Catalan at Magic Weekend on Sunday.

The Giants were out of action as the Challenge Cup took centre stage last weekend and Stone believes his players will be fit and raring to go against the French side at St James’ Park.

“I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about it – good atmosphere, good town Newcastle, good stadium,” he told the club’s official website.

“I’m sure all the players are looking forward to going and playing on a stage like that.

“I think it brings the best out of players when there is an atmosphere and there is a little bit of electricity around the place, so we’re looking forward to it.

“We’ve had a week off so we’re hopefully a bit fresher. We finished the last couple of weeks against Leeds and Castleford with some decent performances, so hopefully we can pick up from where we left off there with some momentum.”
