Wane: Too many errors cost us a point
Wigan boss Shaun Wane says his team made too many errors during their 24-24 draw with Warrington at Magic Weekend on Saturday.
Joe Burgess’ dramatic late try secured a point for the Warriors, but Wane believes it was a point dropped rather than one gained.
“With a minute to go I thought we were in trouble but I don’t like drawing,” he said. “I’m disappointed. We bombed too many tries and came up with too many unforced errors.
“We did some good things in the first half but some ordinary things in the second half. We could have been 24-6 up at half-time if we had taken our chances. We were dumb in crucial areas.
“Regardless of what’s going on with the team, the lads we had out there could and should have won the game.
“I’m so proud of the desire my team show time and time again, I’m just sorry for them that we didn’t get two points.
“Fourteen of those kids came through our system, so we should be very proud of that.
“I don’t just want to play well with a load of kids and draw though, I want to play well with those kids and win the game.”
