Mariano eager to bash the Broncos

Frankie Mariano is eager to make his mark for Featherstone after returning to the side following injury.

Mariano was out for over six weeks with a broken arm, but made an immediate impact on his comeback with a try as Rovers romped to a 52-10 victory over Dewsbury at the weekend.

Featherstone travel to Blackpool for the Summer Bash this weekend to face top-four rivals London Broncos, while a quarter-final date with Leeds in the Challenge Cup also looms large on the horizon.

“It was great to get back out there on the field, I was nervous before the game and had really missed it,” Mariano told the club’s official website.

“We were pleased with the performance and are now looking forward to impressing in front of the television cameras once again.

“It was good to get past Dewsbury as we did. It was another two points in the bag for us, which is vital at this stage in the season.

“But we know the challenges are going to come thick and fast from now until the end of the season, starting on Saturday at the Summer Bash.

“London are chasing our tails, performing very well, and there is a lot at stake for us and them this coming weekend.

“We are going well at the moment, though, and to get Jason Walton back fit is a big boost. Hopefully, Andy Bostock, Chris Ulugia and Luke Briscoe will not be out for too much longer.

“For us, and myself, it is a case of kicking on from Saturday, building up my match fitness again and helping the team win games.”
