Chisholm cleared to play for Bradford
Bradford have confirmed that Dane Chisholm is available to start his second spell at Odsal.
The Bulls initially announced the signing of Chisholm last month, but Sheffield put a block on the move after insisting he was still an Eagles player.
The two clubs have now reached a settlement allowing Chisholm to play against Hull KR at the Summer Bash this weekend.
Chisholm said: “It’s so good to get back at the club and around the boys to start preparing for this week. Hopefully the coach selects me.
“I’m trying not to think about the pressure of coming back – it’s always a great occasion at the Summer Bash and there is a massive build-up to the game.
“I’m not here to pull off miracles – I’m just here to do my job and hopefully help the boys start getting through their performances together.
“The way that I was taken in by all the fans both times I’ve signed is incredible. I’ve had so many tweets offering support which has certainly helps me to know this is where I want to play rugby.
“I just want to give what I can back to them and try and put a few solid performances together.”
Chisholm’s availability is a boost to Bulls’ interim coach Leigh Beattie who has been struggling in recent weeks to integrate loan players into his squad.
Beattie has utilised the loan market to strengthen his options, but he admits the system does cause him some problems.
“We can only play five loan players anyway – and with the Leeds lads in there as well, there is sometimes only room for one of the Widnes lads,” he told the Telegraph and Argus.
“It would be nicer if I had a selection headache about our players, who we could work with week in, week out, rather than loan players who either aren’t training with us or only training with us at the back end of the week.
“It is pretty tough if they aren’t training with us all the time – but most of the players are smart. It is just the calls that are different but the more that you practice the calls, the better you are.
“Leeds have been good with us and the lads have been here most of the time, for example all of the two weeks leading up to the Broncos match.
“Kevin Larroyer (on loan from Castleford Tigers) tends to come in at the back end of the week, as do the other loan players when we know who is available.”
