Beattie: Rams clash a “must-win game”
Bradford interim head coach Leigh Beattie says Sunday’s clash with Dewsbury is a “must-win game” for the club.
The Bulls head into the fixture on the back of an impressive display at the Summer Bash where they narrowly lost against Championship leaders Hull KR.
Beattie’s team defeated the Rams 56-18 at Odsal earlier in the season and victory this weekend will see them finally wipe out their 12 point deficit.
“We’re not even thinking about defeat, this is a must-win game for us – it is just another match where we must knock these points off, so we’re just taking it as it comes,” he told the club’s official website.
“The lads have been great in training all week. There may be a few bumps and bruises after the Bash, but they have been looking after themselves. Everyone is feeling great and really up for this Sunday.
“We have racked up some injuries and conceded a fair few points lately, but we have bounced back from that and we intend to continue the positive form this week.
“We have conceded a fair number of points lately, but you don’t just get that bad overnight. We can’t really explain it but they have fixed it up and made real improvements from their recent performances.
“They have made brilliant strides forwards despite what they have come up against lately. We are well up for this upcoming game, we can’t wait for it.”
